Account Director Overview

Are you our next leader? We have a personality-driven, measured and knowledgeable approach to client services and we’re looking for someone to inspire and get hands on with several top-tier accounts, offering experience and strategic guidance to the wider client services team. Account Directors aim to add value to the client relationship at all times and are responsible for the day-to-day relationship with the client at all times. They:

  • Brief internal departments and ensure work is delivered on brief, on time and on budget
  • Take the lead on creative briefing, collating insight and devising propositions to deliver creative executions which add significant value.
  • Responsible for managing costs and billing clients – ensuring accounts deliver a profit to the agency
  • Direct and coordinate all work commissioned by the client, ensuring that all parties, internal and external, know exactly what is required and what is happening at all stages in the project
  • Ensure design and strategy are delivered with creativity and integrity at the heart of the solution.
  • Work closely with the client to understand their business objectives and develop appropriate marketing strategies to meet them
  • Seek ways to generate new business from within existing client accounts

At a strategic level, an Account Director is required to:

  • Identify consumer and market insights
  • Approach briefs with a view to understand the clients’ business, their challenges, the industry and competition, marrying communication principles to create a considered and sound strategy.
  • Shape the strategic direction of a brand’s marketing plan
  • Demonstrate to the client the particular added value that their agency offers
  • Pitch for business and answer a new brief

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and manage the day-to-day contact with clients in relation to existing and new business development
  • Provide strategic direction and management of a team of account handlers with responsibility for a number of high profile clients
  • Responsible for maintaining Financial targets from existing clients
  • Develop and implement internal processes which can drive a better and way-of-working and the most effective creative output
  • Drive strategies which will aid better financial efficiencies for all departments
  • Develop working relationship across the group – Leeds, Manchester, London
  • Explore and instigate ways to create new revenue streams across new and existing clients
  • To assist in recruitment, management and development of your team
  • Reports to Managing Director
