The DS.Emotion Brand Values
Our values influence our decisions and define how we work together.
Proud to work with places.
Proud of the difference it makes to the built environment and the difference that makes to the communities that live and work in them. Place shaping has a powerful and long term effect. With this in mind we take that responsibility seriously.
“It’ll do” won’t do.
We require the team to work efficiently, but not hastily. A rushed job is rarely the right job. We want our employees to think about the strategy and creative idea behind each project, however small.
We enjoy our work.
We think it’s important that everyone who works with us enjoys the work they do, as work is a big part of our lives.
We respect people & show it in our work
We create excellent work, but not at the expense of other people’s happiness. We’re dedicated to our colleagues and our clients because we care. And this means looking out for each other, always.
Challenge with kindness
It’s important we recognise that challenge isn’t conflict. Discussions, with evidence, are healthy and helpful. We don’t act on anything impulsively – we question, analyse and challenge the brief.
Be challenged with grace
We welcome suggestions and constructive feedback shared in a positive way. Just because it’s the way we’ve always done things, doesn’t mean it’s the way we always have to do them.
We invest in making our work better
But we don’t spend without consideration. We’d rather our clients be assured that their fee is going towards improving and developing the team than spent on a rarely-used ping-pong table.
We love our individual skills & crafts
We want colleagues to be the best they can be – and we want them to want that too. We expect our team members to love what they do – so improving skills should be enjoyable too.
And respect the skills & crafts of others
We trust each other to be experts. We might not understand someone else’s craft, but we always respect it. We know we can always learn from each other.
